Abstract

Prochiral aliphatic ketones as well as acetophenones and heterocyclic analogues are propargylated by trimethylsilylpropargyl boronate under optimized conditions to give the corresponding homopropargylic tertiary alcohols in general with <90% enantioselectivity.
