A Cyclopropenone Route to New Pyrrolizidine Derivatives.

-Enaminone (I) is converted to pyrrol-2-one (III) with the substituted cyclopropenone (II). Via a subsequent acidic intramolecular aldol reaction bicyclic dihydropyrrolones (IV) and (V) are easily obtained when HCl is employed.
