A Convenient One Step Anodic Synthesis of 3-Alkyl Indoles.

-The reaction conditions for the anodic synthesis of title compounds (III) are optimized. The following conditions are shown to afford best yields of (III): neutralization of the reaction solution to an extent of 50%, current density 0.1111 A cm -2 , molar ratio (I) : (II) = 1 : 1 (in the case of (Ia) and (IIa), where a molar ratio of 1 : 10 gives a yield of 49%). -(YADAV, ASHOK K.; SINGH,
