✦ Synopsis
Part 4. Reaction of 2-Iminothiazepines with Methyl Acrylate. Crystal and Molecular Structure of 2-Phenylimino-3-(β-methoxycarbonylethyl)-and 2-Benzyliminohexahydro-1,3thiazepines.
-Reaction of 2-iminothiazepines (I) with methyl acrylate (II) proceeds at the endocyclic nitrogen to give the 2-imino-3-(βmethoxycarbonylethyl)-1,3-thiazepines (III) in high yields. The structure of the formed compounds is confirmed by X-ray crystallography on the phenyl derivative (IIIa).
