## A bsrract: A phosphaddylethanolamine (1) containing two 9-thiastearyl groups was prepared by chemical synthesis. This compound and its methylsulfonium dcrivatiw were found IO be inhibitors of the cyclopropune fatty acid synlhase from the parasidcprotozoan CMhidia fksciiulata.

An implemented GC method to separate and quantify the cell cyclopropane fatty acids lactobacillic (C19cyc11) and dehydrosterculic (C19cyc9) was used to study the adaptive response to sublethal acid and cold stresses in Lactobacillus helveticus and Lactobacillus sanfranciscensis. The comparison of th
The phenotypically silent cyclopropane fatty acid synthesis (cfa) gene of Escherichia coli K-12 has been located on the genetic linkage map. This was accomplished by integrating (via homologous recombination) the selectable marker of a recombinant plasmid into the host chromosome near the cfa locus.
