Stability and a.c. loss were studied for three kinds of Nb-Ti wire. These wires are strands of 10 kA cables which have been developed for field windings of 70 MW class low excitation superconducting generators. All the wires consist of Nb-Ti/Cu/Cu-Ni; wires B and C are monolithic wires and wire A is

β¦ Synopsis
A comparison of the a.c. energy losses of Nb-Ti composite superconductors at various time intervals over several years is carried out. The observed decrease of eddy current losses by a factor of 1.4-3.4 is probably associated with increasing effective transverse resistivity of the matrix due to diffusion between Nb-Ti and copper. The processes of aging did not result in a decreasing current-carrying capability.

Changes in body composition are known to occur with old age, but there is limited knowledge of the normal values rates of change in anthropometric indices of body composition or the distribution of these changes in the elderly. In the present study, 98 elderly white men and 122 elderly white women w
In this Paper the compatability between a three parameter fit, which assumes a normal density distribution of critical currents, and the familiar empirical two parameter law (V= ~/n) is demonstrated by applying them both to the analysis of data obtained in the characterization of a Nb-Ti standard re
