Interferometric measurements were made on sections of salivary glands mounted in oils of refractive indices 1.410, 1.460, and 1.500, estimating optical path differences as fringe displacement with a Leitz double-beam interferometer microscope. From these data the mean concentrations ( i n mg/cm2/mic
