In the title coordination polymer, [Sn(C~2~H~5~)(C~6~H~5~)~2~(C~2~H~2~ClO~2~)]~__n__~, the five-coordinate Sn atom shows an SnC~3~O~2~ trigonal–bipyramidal geometry, with O atoms in the axial positions.

The title compound, [Sn(CH~3~)~3~(C~9~H~9~O~2~)], forms polymeric chains involving both O atoms of the carboxylate group. The coordination geometry around the Sn atom is distorted trigonal–bipyramidal.
