✦ Synopsis

The crystal structure determination of the title compound, [Sn(C~4~H~9~)~2~(C~8~F~4~O~4~)]~n~, revealed an infinite polymeric chain in the solid state. The Sn atom is in a distorted sixfold coordination between bicapped tetrahedral and skew-bipyramidal.

The title compound, [Mn 2 (C 7 H 3 NO 4 ) 2 (H 2 O) 5 ]Á2H 2 O, has been prepared from the hydrothermal reaction of manganese(II) chloride tetrahydrate and pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid. It is isostructural with the analogous Co II , Ni II , Cu II and Zn II compounds.
