## Abstract The carbonโ13 NMR spectra of some __N__โ(2โ or 4โnitrophenyl) tertiary amines and their corresponding __N__โoxides have been analysed. These __N__โoxides undergo thermal rearrangement to __O__โarylhydroxylamines, for which the ^13^C NMR spectral assignments were also carried out. The __
