## Abstract Fourier transform carbonβ13 nuclear magnetic resonance spectra have been obtained and interpreted for some 2βsubstituted tetrahydropyrans. The effects of the substituents on Ξ±, Ξ², Ξ³ and Ξ΄βcarbon atoms are discussed. Using suitable reference compounds the Ξ³βparameter can be used for quan
