## The kinetics of crystallisation has been studied in glassy Se 80-x Te 20 Sb x (0 4 x 4 15) by two different techniques: (i) a non-isothermal DSC technique where multiscans at different heating rates are used to calculate the kinetic parameters; (ii) isothermal annealing at different temperature

β¦ Synopsis
Kinematic studies of glass transition and crystallisation in glassy
Se 80-x Te 20 Cd x are made using a nonisothermal DSC technique. From the heating rate dependence of the glass transition and crystallisation temperatures the activation energies of glass transition (D D D D DE t ) and crystallisation (D D D D DE c ) are calculated. A discontinuity in T g , T c , D D D D DE t and D D D D DE c is observed at 10 at% Cd which is explained in terms of a mechanically stabilised structure at a particular average co-ordination.
