✦ Synopsis
Abstract
The preparation of polymer–drug complexes is one of the techniques used to obtain modified release formulations for use in different pharmaceutical forms. In this study, we prepared complexes with four commercially available latexes of different characteristics and two photoprotectors to determine the calorimetric, electrophoretic, and microphotographic characteristics of the complexes. The findings shed light on the interactions between the different polymers and drugs and on the differences between complexes as a result of differences in particle size. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In terms of nomenclature, the polymers are often termed polylactide, polyglycolide, and polylactideco -glycolide as this refl ects the monomer chemistry. ## Abstract In this study, the intermacromolecular complexation of two polymers with chemically complementary structures in the latex state and the interparticle interactions were probed. Two latexes—a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)/poly(vinyl acetate‐co‐butyl acrylate) system, named PA latex, and a P
Two poly-2-hydroxypropylmethacrylamide conjugates with the anti-cancer drug doxorubicin were investigated by 1H NMR spectroscopy. In both polymers (FCE 28068 and FCE 28069) the drug is connected to a polymethacrylamide backbone via a tetrapeptidyl spacer (Gly-L,D-Phe-L-Leu-Gly) and, in addition, FCE
