We present the results of the experimental and theoretical investigation of the optical and magneto-optical (MO) spectra of magnetic granular films (CoToFe30)xAgl-x, CoxAgl-x,CoxCUl-x in the energy range 0.5-4.0eV of incident light. The MO properties were investigated in the geometry of transverse K

β¦ Synopsis
The absorptive part of the off-diagonal optical conductivity g2xy(co) of CeSb is calculated using a model in which the 5d electrons of Ce and the 5p electrons of Sb are treated as band electrons, while the 4f states of Ce are localized and described by I J = 5/2, Jz = 5/2). The calculation fits the experiment well. Assignments of transitions to the structures of ~r2~y(co ) are also performed.
CeSb has attracted much interest because of its very anomalous and interesting physical properties [1]. It crystallizes in the NaCl-type crystal structure with a lattice spacing of a = 6.412/~. It is a semimetal with a free carrier concentration of about 0.04/Ce. Reim and Schoenes [2] reported the magneto-optical Kerr effect as a function of photon energy, ho), in the range of 0.5<ho)<5eV at T=2K and B=5T, for which CeSb is in a ferromagnetic phase. The dispersive part
