Diffusion flames of tri. or tetra4udogenated methanes burning at low pressure in an atmosphere of alkali metal vapor are sources of profuse Ca emlsaon [I-3]. A good example is the flame of gaseous CCh burning in potassium vapor. A portion of the emission spectrum is shown in Fig.
