β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
This paper describes a vertical square planar monopole with a square concentric slot and a shifted feed location for broadband applications. The impedance and radiation characteristics of the proposed monopoles are experimentally studied, as a function of antenna dimensions and feed location. The proposed monopoles are shown to yield impedance bandwidth ratios of >1:1 for VSWR = 2:1, which fulfill most of the demands of EMC applications. Within the broad bandwidths, acceptable monopoleβlike radiation patterns are also observed. Β© 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract This article presents a broadband folded planar monopole antenna suitable for DCS (1710β1880 MHz), PCS (1850β1990 MHz), UMTS (1920β2170 MHz), and WLAN (2400β2484 MHz) operations for mobile phones. In addition to the broadband operation, the proposed folded monopole has compact dimension
## Abstract In this paper, we design and fabricate a broadband interiorβtype planar monopole with an omnidirectional radiation pattern over a wide operation band using a slanted feeding shape. It has a measured 10βdB impedance bandwidth of about 670 MHz (1585β2255 MHz) covering the DCS (digital cor
