✦ Synopsis

Branching fractions are determined for the product NO (A 'X+, u= 0,l) and NO( B 'II, v= 0) emissions as a function of v' in the energy transfer reaction N,(A 'Z:, v') tNO(X 211n v"=O) in a rapidly pumped discharge-flow reactor operated at a total 2 pressure of TC 2 Torr at % 295 K. Using the NO( A Z ++X 2rI,) yo 7 and 7, 8 band intensities we determined the ratio of yO/yl to be 10.1+1.4, 8.46k1.02, and 5.74kO.71 (1~) for the energy kansfer &actions N1(ASZi, u'=O), N1(A3Z:, u'<l), and N*(A 'Z:, v'62)+NO(X2n, u"=O), respectively. Using the yO,, and PO,, bands we obtain a yO/h ratio of 7.67f 1.48,3.28+0.42, and 1.52f0.21 (lo)fortheenergytransferreactionsN~(A3~~,u'=O),N~(A3Z~,u'6I),andN~(A3~,u'~2)tNO(X~~, u" = 0), respectively.
