β¦ Synopsis
Foster Wheeler wins FEED contract for StatoilHydro project in Norway
F oster Wheeler Energy Ltd has selected StatoilHydro ASA to undertake the front-end engineering design (FEED) for the carbon dioxide (CO 2 )/amine project at the Γ sgard B offshore production facilities in the Norwegian Sea.
Γ sgard B is a semi-submersible production vessel which processes and exports gas and produced condensate from the SmΓΈrbukk and Midgard reservoirs in the Norwegian Sea. Foster Wheeler's scope of work includes the FEED for debottlenecking of the existing amine unit and procurement services for longlead items. The overall objective is to obtain maximum absorption of CO 2 at Γ sgard B through implementation of the proposed modifications during 2009 and 2010.
BP maintains capital
expenditure levels B P plans to keep this year's capi- tal spend broadly in line with 2008, at US$20 billion-US$21 billion, with lower spending in Refining & Marketing and Alternative Energy and maintaining investment in Exploration & Production.
BP says that from existing projects, it now expects to grow production to 2013. With year-end 2008 reserves of 18.2 billion barrels and a resource base of 43.4 billion barrels, this growth could be maintained until 2020 without any further discoveries.
BP added 1.7 billion barrels of new oil and gas to its reserves base in 2008, a replacement ratio of 121%, excluding acquisitions and divestments.
At a total of 61.6 billion barrels of oil equivalent, BP's combined reserves and nonproved resources are sufficient for 43 years of production at the same rates as 2008.
