Spin-lattice relaxation rates for Cu-1 and Cu-2 are calculated in YBa,Cu,O,\_, for various stoichiometries. It is found that the Cu-1 relaxation rate has a maximum in the vicinity of 6 = 0.3 if disordering occurs in the Cu-0 chains.

The various plasmon dispersions in the long-wavelength limit are calculated from the dielectric functions for systems containing a finite number of CU02 layers and Cu-o chains. The role of chains is found two folds: first, generate more acoustic plasmons in each CU02 layer including chains themselve

The polythermal section at a constant composition of 20 mol% BaCl 2 of the quasi-ternary system BaCl 2 -BaO-CuO x was investigated at p(O 2 ) ‫؍‬ 0.21 bar by means of DTA/TG and soaking experiments. Our results show the nature of incongruent decomposition reactions of the quaternary phases Ba 3 Cu 2
