โฆ Synopsis
Pure circuit models of transducers have been used for many years with varying degrees of success. However, pure circuit models impose restrictions not all of which are predicated on laws of physics. These restrictions can produce transducer models which are nonphysical. Bond graph models ofSeer an alternative that is less restrictive and thus better able to provide clear physical insight. We discuss the problem of pure circuit models of transducers and the advantages of bond graph approaches by examination of the special case of a piezoelectric transducer.

Linear and rotary motors using permanent magnet field excitation can often be modeled using power-conservative gyrator elements based on the Lorentz force law and Faraday's voltage law. A bond graph network representation of a photoreception model of Limulus is derived. The admitted network elements are exclusively restricted to the microscopically realistic processes of storage, diffusion and chemical reactions of molecules. In the present paper bond graph modelling techniques are used to develop a nonlinear model of a reciprocating compressor. Models are developed for different subsystems which are assembled into a$nal overall system bond graph. The orderly development of the governing state equations emanating from th
