Primary, secondary and tertiary enaminones react with his(pyridine)iodonium(I) tetrafluoroborate in methylene chloride at room temperature to give c~-iodo enaminones in almost quantitative yields. The reported reaction is the first known example of direct iodination of tertiary enaminones.

The title complex, [Rh(C 7 H 8 )(C 4 H 8 O) 2 ]BF 4 , contains a rhodium(I) centre coordinated in a square-planar manner by two tetrahydrofuran molecules and the mid-points of the double bonds of an 4 -coordinated norbornadiene ligand.
