✦ Synopsis
The title compound, (C 5 H 12 N) 2 [ZnCl 4 ], contains a network of piperidinium cations and tetrahedral (ZnCl 4 ) 2À [d av (ZnÐCl) = 2.2725 (6) A Ê ] anions. The crystal packing is in¯uenced by cation-to-anion NÐHÁ Á ÁCl hydrogen bonds (three simple and one bifurcated), resulting in a structure with layered character.
