Abstract

Terminal acetylenes react with cis‐RuMe~2~(PMe~3~)~4~ to form the bis(acetylido) complexes cis/trans‐Ru(C≡CR)~2~(PMe~3~)~4~ in good yield. The structures of trans‐2 (R = Ph), cis‐3 (R = p‐C~6~H~4~‐OMe), trans‐4 (R = p‐C~6~H~4~‐Me), cis‐6 (R = Me), trans‐7 (R = SiMe~3~) and cis‐8 (R = H) were determined by X‐ray crystallography.
