## Abstract **BACKGROUND:** The removal of methylene blue from aqueous solution was studied using softstem bulrush (__Scirpus tabernaemontani__ Gmel.) as the biosorbent. The effects of various parameters including contact time, biosorbent dosage, ionic strength and solution pH on the biosorption we
