โฆ Synopsis
Biometrics security is linked to trust. Good system design discourages misuse and advocates the interest of the persons whose data is examined. A wide variety of use cases, types of biometrics and user interface designs entails an equally wide variety of security requirements. A classification of these variables is given and useful combinations are introduced and rated. The strong relationship between trust and data privacy is emphasised. Examples demonstrate the beneficial role of smart cards in facilitating adequate system design. The current diversity of technical solutions calls for standard scenarios in the use of biometrics.
