โœฆ Synopsis

Despite the enthusiasm and its rapid growth, End-User Computing (EUC) is not well-managed. This article investigates EUC and its current practices.

EUC experience at 31 organizations representing 12 industries was surveyed. Areas of study include: MIS/DP managers' perceptions and attitudes toward EUC, perceived benefits and difficulties of EUC applications and issues related to management and support of EUC activities. Implications of the survey findings for effective EUC applications are also discussed.
