Determination of the Chirality of Optically Active Porphine Type Nickel Complexes

The chirality of (+)‐[1‐methyl‐8 H‐HDP]nickelperchlorate (4) was determined to be (1__R__) by X‐ray analysis of 7a combined with chemical correlation of the chirality at C(1′) of the 1′‐methyl‐2′‐oxopropoxy side chain of 7a with (−)‐(R)‐2‐methyl‐2,3‐butandiol (9).
