✦ Synopsis

Benzeneperoxyseleninic acid (2) and its analogs, 2-nitro and 2,4-dinitrobenzeneperogseleninic acids (10, 111, were obtained by oxidation of corresponding arylaeleninic acids or diaryldiselenides with hydrogen peroxide. Their chemical properties were studied and rearrangement of 2 to benzeneaelenic acid 1 was found as an useful method for preparation of this compound. In wtas also shown thet peroxyseleninic acid JJ can be used as an efficient oxidant in the Baeyer-Villiger transformetion of the formyl group into formyloxy one.
