โฆ Synopsis
Durametallic has released details of its new PB Series Dura Seal seals designed to conform to the API 682 requirements of standard Type B seals. The PB series consists of the PB-100 single seal: the non-pressurised PB-200 dual in-line single seal, operated with a buffer fluid; and the pressurised PB-300 dual in-line seal, operated with a barrier fluid. These are cartridge, balanced, inside, rotating bellows designs which can cope with pressure reversals.
New features include a flexibly mounted mating ring (stator) and a patented, centroid-loaded seal ring (rotor) -to assure seal face flatness and a patented vibration damping bellows design.
The PB Series seals are available in shaft sizes from 0.75 in to 4.5 in at increments of 0.125 in. They are capable of operating at pressures up to 250 psi, in water/caustics and non-flashing hydrocarbons. Operating temperatures reach 180ยฐF in water/caustic and 300ยฐF in non-flashing hydrocarbons. Maximum operating speed for the PB Series seal is 25 m/s.
