✦ Synopsis


Abstraet-The voltage depression phenomenon which occurs when beta-NiOOH electrodes are held on potential float for long periods, after being charged, has been investigated. It has been shown that the effect is mainly due to the formation of a low energy form of beta-NiOOH, rather than the formation of gamma-NiOOH, except when considerable overcharging occurs during a very high potential float.
