✦ Synopsis
Two‐layered lamella model for polymer layered silicates nanocomposite material processed by solution casting. The model describes the decrease in liquid permeability due to the presence of layered silicates, where each lamella has two layers: one of polymer and the second one containing polymer plus flakes. Diffusion of the liquid permeate first occurs through the layer of only polymer and then occurs through the second layer by wiggling around the flakes.
