โฆ Synopsis
A numerical method is presented for finding approximate solutions to static and axisymmetric vibration problems for piezoelectric cylinders, including those composed of more than one material. The weak or variational forms of the general equations of piezoelectricity are solved using the Ritz method with elements of power series and Fourier series used as the approximating functions. The procedure was applied to discs, long rods, hollow cylinders, composite cylinders and thinly layered transducers. Good agreement is obtained with results reported from the literature of frequencies, displacements and electric potential.

An analysis for the three-dimensional solutions of piezoelectric laminated plates has been conducted by several researchers. For example, Ray and Rao [1] and Ray and Samanta [2] have studied the exact static analysis of piezoelectric plates under cylindrical bending and finite dimension piezoelectri
