To begin defining the factors regulating neurotransmitter receptor expression, we examined beta-adrenergic receptors in rat liver in vivo and in primary liver cultures under defined hormonal conditions. P-receptors described a remarkable developmental profile in vivo, increasing fivefold between emb

Abstract
Autoradiographic demonstration of beta adrenergic receptors was achieved light microscopically in melanophores of isolated scales of a teleost fish, Oryzias latipes. [^3^H]hydroxybenzylisoproterenol, a beta adrenergic agonist, and [^3^H]propranolol, a beta adrenergic antagonist, were used as radioligands. In the autoradiograms, photographic grains of considerably high density were found to be distributed evenly over all parts of the surface of melanophores. Since the density of the grains was observed to decrease significantly in the presence of excess amounts of nonlabeled ligands, the results indicate the actual existence of beta adrenergic receptors in the present melanophores. This substantiates the findings obtained by other physiological and pharmacological methods that betaβadrenergic receptors may exist and be involved in melanosomeβdispersion response of fish melanophores.

## Abstract The effect of chronic intravenous infusion of desmethylimipramine (DMI), amitriptyline, mianserin, bupropion, alprazolam, or diazepam on the density of betaβadrenergic receptors in the rat cerebral cortex has been investigated in this study. DMI and amitriptyline significantly decreased
We have studied the kinetic constants of 8-adrenergic receptors in lymphocytes and of serotonin uptake sites in platelets from adult and elderly volunteers and from aged patients with a diagnosis of multi-infarct dementia (MID) or senile dementia of Alzheimer's type (SDAT). The results showed that i
