β¦ Synopsis
Varian's V-55 klystron designed for top performance under extremely rugged service conditions, features high power output for low resonator voltages. It is particularly well-suited for transmitter applications where adequate power output is required from a signal source which must be isolated from the system to which it is connected, or where transmitter power output of the order of Β½ watt is desired. The V-55 will operate from conventional power supplies and with conventional crystal mixers.
Other important characteristics of the V-55 klystron are: integral matching structure which permits maximum performance with a matched load, low microphonics, lock-nut tuning, waveguide output, rapid warm-up, negligible barometric frequency coefficient and extended tuning range.
