โœฆ Synopsis

It has been suggested that the observed retention of carbonyl compounds could be explained by keto-enol tautomerism, i.e. interactions of surface silanols with aliphatic -OH groups of the enols. We do not find this to be likely, since the tauto-~7 1

meric equilibrium very strongly favors the keto form except for P-discarbonyls. Moreover, the chromatograms clearly show different types of results for the aldehydes and ketones than for the alcohols in the test mixtures. If the enol forms were predominant, this would not be the case.

An automated capillary gas chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (GC/MS/MS) assay for the simultaneous quantitation of tebufelone (TE) and its two major metabolites (PGE-1802413 and PGE-6285825) in plasma was developed. Using a 1:1 BSTFA:pyridine derivatization cocktail to solubilize plasma extrac
