β¦ Synopsis
A rapid, sensitive, and reliable method for the determination of nifedipine in human plasma is described. Using a single-step solvent extraction and capillary gas chromatography combined with electron capturedetection, an assaysensitivityof 2 ng/ml is achieved routinely using 0.5 ml of plasma. Intact nifedipine is quantitated and separated from its nitroso-and nitropyridinederivatives. The suitability of the assay for pharmacokinetic studies is illustrated.

## Abstract A sensitive GCβECD assay has been developed for the simultaneous determination of midazolam (I) and its Ξ±βhydroxy metabolite (II) in plasma. The assay involves extraction of both compounds into ether at alkaline pH (pH 12), followed by silylation of the Ξ±βhydroxy metabolite with N,Oβbis
A sensitive method for the simulataneous determination of bufuralol and its pharmacologically active metabolites in huamn plasma is described. The O-timethylsilyl,N-trifluoroacetyl derivatives are assayed by mass fragmentography. Sensitivity is 1 ng 76(-1) plasma for bufaralol and about 250 pg ml(-1
