## Abstract The leading term in the asymptotic expansions of the threeβcenter contributions to the exchange matrix elements for a system of three hydrogen atoms is derived. The approximations are used to estimate the importance of three center interactions in βspinβaligned hydrogenβ.

A free-energy analysis provides a new and comprehensive insight into the physical origin of capillary interaction between particles trapped at fluid interfaces. We begin by setting out the exact expressions for the interfacial and gravitational energies associated with the presence at an interface o
Particles or aggregates of particles trapped at fluid interfaces are subjected to capillary forces. This paper is devoted to a force analysis of the capillary interaction between two horizontal cylinders lying side by side on an interface. First, we derive exact expressions for the force of interact
This paper presents new applications of the McMillat-Mayer solution theory to dispersions of highly charged colloidal cylinders in monovalent salt solutions. The thermodynamic so- lution properties are given in terms of the virial expansions relating to a Donnan membrane equilibrium. General express
