## The synthesis of (-I-N-cyanomethyl-&phenyl-1,3-oxazolidine 1 is reported. Good yiglds and moderate diastereomeric excesses (d.e.s. I of mono-and di-substituted a-aminonitriles were obtained from this simple chiral template.
