β¦ Synopsis
Brief Data Reports 687 suggests human Chr 1 p is syntenic to at least three bovine chromosomes: 16(U1), 2(U17), and 3(U6) [1,10,11]. In this comparative map, bovine synteny group U6 is apparently homologous to the p13-21 region of human Chr 1. Since a previous analysis utilizing microsatellite markers extended the U6 (Chr 3) linkage group to 92.3 cM [1], the assignment of G-CSFR at the end of the bovine U6 (Fig. 2) suggests that U6 encompasses not only the regions corresponding to human Chr 1 p13-21, but also the p35 region where human G-CSFR has been assigned. In summary, our data demonstrate that G-CSFR maps to bovine Chr 3 (synteny group U6), and this assignment extends synteny conservation between human Chr 1 and bovine Chr 3.
