Data from four sets of recombinant inbred strains confirm that variation at a single genetic locus is responsible for the previously observed differences in the rate of histidase synthesis in inbred mice. Linkage testing stocks were used to demonstrate linkage with steel (Sl) on chromosome 10.

## Abstract Regional specificity of lung tumor formation has rarely been studied in mouse or human. By using crosses of strains semiβcongenic for lung cancer susceptibility locus __Sluc20__, we have analyzed the genetic influences of __Sluc20__ and 5 other loci on tumor regionality in the mouse lun
While inheritance of mutated alleles of highly penetrant tumor suppressor genes such as retinoblastoma or p53 predisposes individuals to a greatly increased risk of developing cancer, epidemiological data indicate that the majority of sporadic tumors in humans result from interactions of environment
It has been known for many years that there are dramatic differences in the susceptibility of mouse stocks and strains to two-stage skin carcinogenesis and that these differences are due the animals' responsiveness to tumor-promoting agents. In earlier studies using several inbred mouse strains, we
