The yeast, Kluyveromyces fragilis was permeabilized to a number of low-molecular-weight substrates using digitonin. The activities of intracellular yeast enzymes, viz., alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), beta-galactosidase, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, aspartase, and hexokinase were found to be much
