β¦ Synopsis
A~tract--The aqueous polymerization of acrylamide initiated by ammonium persulphate/thiolactic acid has been studied at 35 + 0.2 Β° in nitrogen. The rate is given by k[M] 1"4 [thiolactic acid] Β°'24 [ammonium persulphate] ~, where x is nearly 0.5 and 1.0 at concentrations 0.15molel-' and 0,05 mole 1-~ of monomer respectively. The deviations from normal kinetics are discussed. The overall activation energy is 7.96 kcal mole-~.

The polymerization of acrylamide, initiated by a cerium (IV) [Ce(IV)] ammonium nitrate-methionine redox initiator system, was carried out in an aqueous solution at different reaction conditions. The dependence of molecular weight and polymerization yield on the concentration of Ce(IV), polymerizatio
## Abstract The polymerization of acrylic acid by the redox system ammonium persulphate/sodium sulphite was studied under a variety of conditions. The obtained results indicate that the total conversion is determined by the concentrations of (NH~4~)~2~S~2~O~8~ and Na~2~SO~3~, as well as by the degr
Kinetics of polymerization of acrylonitrile initiated by the redox system Mn3+/citric acid were investigated in aqueous sulphuric acid in the range of 20-25Β°; initial rates of polymerization and Mn 3Γ· disappearance etc. were measured.
