β¦ Synopsis
The polymerization of methacrylamide initiated by the redox system potassium persulphate/2-mercaptoethanol has been studied. The order of the reaction with respect t o methacrylamide was found to be one with deviation a t higher concentration of the monomer. A t optimum concentration of potassium persulphate and 2-mercaptoethanol the order of the polymerization reaction is 0.5 with respect to both persulphate and 2-mercaptoethanol. The effect of the polymerization conditions on the intrinsic viscosities and the influence of additives on the rate of polymerization were investigated.

## Abstract The polymerization of acrylic acid by the redox system ammonium persulphate/sodium sulphite was studied under a variety of conditions. The obtained results indicate that the total conversion is determined by the concentrations of (NH~4~)~2~S~2~O~8~ and Na~2~SO~3~, as well as by the degr
The kinetics of aqueous polymerization of acrylamide (AM) and methacrylamide (MAM) have been studied using a potassium peroxydiphosphate (PDP/Mn(II) system in an inert atmosphere at 40Β‘C and at constant pH (1Γ30). The polymerization rate has been found to be proportional to the half power R p of PDP
