The three leading terms of the asymptotic expansion of the solution of the problem of convective heat transfer between a thin plate of finite length and arbitrary surface temperature and an unbounded uniform fluid flow are obtained analytically for low P&let and Prandtl numbers.
A method to solve transient heat transfer problems of thin plates by using BEM in conjunction with the Laplace transform is described. The active range of the transform parameter S is determined from the D-S plot to avoid an illconditioned matrix. The results of the illustrative examples are compare
