✦ Synopsis

A method to solve transient heat transfer problems of thin plates by using BEM in conjunction with the Laplace transform is described. The active range of the transform parameter S is determined from the D-S plot to avoid an illconditioned matrix. The results of the illustrative examples are compared with analytical as well as FEM solutions. The comparisons show that this method gives satisfactory results.
