The valence electron bands of.the'&phase X-ray ph&oelectron spectra were me&wed on acetonitrile and nitro-.' . . m&ant?. ft is shown that the:obscrved spectra can be interpreted successfully by co~p~~~~ with f$e Iie f photo-e&ran spectra and the results of &DO/Z c&ulations.
The carbon X-r;iy K emission band of NsCN, KCN, &Fe(CN)6. KxFe(CNI),, K3hfn(CN)e and K;3Cr(CN)s is analyscd and compared \rirh ph~tuclcctron data ifavailable. The corrchrion with phoroclecrron data is good. An estimate is riven of the charge distribution in these ions.
