โœฆ Synopsis

The development of sequential-injection analysis (SIA) from its mother technique flowinjection analysis (FIA) is reviewed. A short historical background is given as well as discussions on the basic principles and operational parameters governing the design of an SIA system. Single-, double-, and multizone systems are described together with more complicated systems including calibration, dilution, extraction, dialysis, titrations, separation, preconcentration, and systems incorporating mixing chambers.

We present an overview on the recent development and future trends of sequential injection (SI) analysis for the automation of pharmaceutical analysis. The advantages and potentials of SI systems, namely, low sample and reagent consumption and high reliability and automatic manipulation, are discuss

Several variables that affect flow spectrophotometric titrations in sequential injection analysis (SIA) systems were studied by using titration of a strong acid with a strong base as a model; blue bromothymol was used as an indicator and distilled water was used as a carrier. A highly ยฏexible, automatic sequential-injection stripping analysis (SISA) system has been developed and applied for monitoring the levels of mercury in aqueous solutions using a chemically modiยฎed electrode. The preparation of the modiยฎed electrode comprises spin coating of an ethanolic solution of
