The maximum entropy qxwral analysis has been apphed to the time domain signals obtained m a Fourier transform mass spectrometer. The method. employing at ITIOSL a Zew hundred points from the digitized signals. is shown to produce mass spectra that are devoid of the sidelobes preen1 in rast Fourier transformation and cxbiblt mass resolution that is superior to that obtained by the latter using several Ihowd data points.
