✦ Synopsis

Different image processing techniques have been tested and compared on data derived from y-angiography images to detect the boundary of the left ventricle. The method involves a preprocessing step, followed by the edge detection itself. The best preprocessing is a nonlinear "variant" filtering, where each pixel is replaced by the average of the 3 x 3 neighborhood having the smallest variance. The edge detector giving the best contour is a Sobel operator. A second-order high-pass Butterworth filter also provides a good segmentation.

## Abstract In rapidly acquired gradient echo images, lipid regions usually appear as areas of high signal intensity. In 2D inflow angiograms processed by the maximum intensity projection algorithm, this high lipid signal may prevent angiographic visualization of some blood vessels. We present a ne

A fast MR pulse sequence with spiral in-plane readout and conventional 3D partition encoding was developed for multiphase contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (CE-MRA) of the renal vasculature. Compared to a standard multiphase 3D CE-MRA with FLASH readout, an isotropic in-plane spatial
