In order to investigate atomization phenomena in premixed flames at low pressure 1, a nebulizer of the total-consumption type had to be built into the low pressure set-up. It is very difficult to run reproducible flame experiments at low pressure with waste liquids accumulating in the vacuum chamber

โฆ Synopsis
A method for the more efficient utilization of thin-layer chromatoplates is described.
Dipping quartz microscope slides into 46 y0 hydrogen fluoride solution is used to etch plates on which very thin layers (in general above 20 ,um thick) can then he spread, and the layers are thin enough to separate very small amounts of materials in a short time, Furthermore, thin layers of sorbent prepared in hollows etched on the quartz plates are protected from mechanical damage and are stable without the need for special storage conditions.
